Our History

In September 2001, Jay and Danielle Pathak moved to Arvada, Colorado from Columbus, Ohio with a team of 14 others to start a community of people that would seek and follow Jesus together. They came from the Columbus Vineyard, where Jay was on staff with its young-adult congregation, Joshua House. Having seen Joshua House grow from a small group of 10 people into a congregation of nearly 1,000 young adults, Jay and Danielle knew there was potential for similar growth in Arvada as people fell more and more in love with Jesus.

We started with only three small groups in the fall of 2001 and held our first Sunday service on Easter in 2002. We met for monthly services through Christmas Eve, 2002 and then began weekly services each Sunday evening in Old Town Arvada. Morning services began in the fall of 2004.

In late 2009, we changed our name from the Vineyard Community Church to the Mile High Vineyard after we became a multi-site church, launching a new church in Denver. Presently, we have four churches: Arvada Vineyard, WestminsterVineyard, Highlands Vineyard and Lakewood Vineyard.  We hope and plan to start more churches all over the metro area in the years to come.
